Only 40hrs on the engine! Hurry, to avoid disappointment!

Cruiser Stern narrow boat "Piper's Pride",  A modern and luxuriously fitted out canal narrowboat.  Cruiser stern with spacious and easy access to the 38hp Beta Marine engine (and to the weed hatch should the need arise).  The Webasto Cental Heating unit is also easily accessible.  Five batteries supply power to the inverter for mains power when cruising.  Handling is accurate and extremely responsive and the throttle control is in just the right place.  The bedroom has a fixed double bed with under storage and drawers below.  There is also a large (double size) hanging wardrobe, triple shelving unit and over bed storage - ample for living aboard.  The bathroom is full width (6'10") and features a dual flush toilet modern wash basin and powerful shower.  There is ample storage in the under sink unit and also an 'airing cupboard' above the calorifier.  The water is heated by the Webasto C.H. unit, electric or by the engine.  The galley (kitchen) is fitted with a gas oven, grill and hob with modern extractor fan/lighting above, a microwave, washing machine, stainless steel sink unit, fridge with freezer section, and clever internal storage aids to the units.  Black marble effect work surfaces and modern recessed ceiling lighting complement the design.  The galley opens out into the cabin which is light and gives a spacious feeling with a seamless continuation of the recessed lighting.  The galley features a full length low level 'fin rad' radiator and also a multi-fuel stove.  The multi-fuel stove is fitted with a back-boiler that also heats the entire boat via the large radiators in the bathroom and bedroom (very cosy even in winter!).  There is a fitted stereo CD player/radio.  The TV cupboard is designed to house a flat panel TV to be hidden when not in use.  There are mains sockets throughout the boat.  Access to the bow is via double doors where there is under seating storage and access to the bow gas locker/storage.  The boat is in 'as new' condition and has hardly been used with only about 38 hours on the engine.  She was blacked in August 2008 and has not been in the water since, this means she can be fully visually inspected inside and out.  She has a BSS certificate until August 2012.  This is a rare opportunity to purchase a Piper designed and built boat without having to pay a premium.  Viewing is possible seven days a week.  New pastures and new partner forces sale.

Although currently named 'Piper's Pride' the new owner can choose any name for the boat so you are not restricted to someone else's choice of name!  You can also become a member of the Piper Owners Club.

Advantages of a 52ft boat:

  • All the features of a longer boat but easier handling and can be turned in more places (winding holes, etc.)

  • Leaves more room in locks to ensure you won't catch on the cill.

  • More likely to fit into a temporary mooring point vacated by a longer boat on busy days and easier to find a permanent mooring in a marina (can reside on a 50ft berth, subsequently less expensive).

  • Less expensive to license on the waterways than longer boats.

  • Easier to transport on road if required (i.e. if you want to take it to Europe).

Narrow boat at Swanley Marina, Nantwich, Cheshire, CW5 8NR where you can also find many other narrow boats for sale (see the Swanley Brokerage website http://www.swanleybrokerage.co.uk/ ).  Easy access to the Llangollen Canal,  Shropshire Union Canal and Trent and Mersey Canal.

Swanley Bridge Marina is a true haven for narrow boat owners.  Located in Cheshire at the easterly end of the Llangollen canal it is ideally placed for superb canal cruising with only a short trip through Hurleston locks to join the Shropshire Union Canal.  The trip along the famous Llangollen canal to the west through Wales is arguably the best there is on the entire canal system with highlights such as Grindley Brook locks and the Thomas Telford built aqueducts; the most famous of which is now a UNESCO world heritage site at Trevor - the Pontcysylite Aqueduct.  It is estimated that 6,000 narrowboats make the canal trip every year.  Swanley Bridge Marina is a modern marina for narrowboats, completed in 2006 and boasts clean, modern facilities.  The site is protected by CCTV security and is not open to the general public.  There are also canal boat repair sheds and hoisting facilities for narrowboats on site should you wish to purchase the narrow boat and transport it to another area (or even abroad - fancy cruising down through France?).

Narrow boats for sale in a great location.  Nantwich, in Cheshire, is a historic market town just a couple of miles away.  Very accessible by road or rail (or narrow boat for that matter!), with a choice of quality local shopping or major supermarkets in the town.  There are regular festivals, such as the Jazz Festival and the Food and Drink Festival, and Nantwich is home to the South Cheshire Agricultural Show held every summer (famous for it's cheese show too).  There are many locations where there are narrow boats for sale, but Swanley near Nantwich must be one of the nicest to visit.
